Local Business Uses Work Ready Assessment
to Develop Their Workforce MARIETTA, GA (February 17, 2011) - InfoMart, one of the nation's premier applicant screening companies, is utilizing the Georgia Work Ready Initiative to assess 70 employees. The three part assessment that measures applied math, locating information, and reading for information skills will allow them to identify skills gaps of their current staff to better train them to reach their fullest potential. In addition, all who take the assessment have free access to KeyTrain, an on-line comprehensive training curriculum geared towards the WorkKeys job skills. "We are excited to be conducting on-site Work Ready assessments with our staff. Not only will our employees benefit by becoming Work Ready certified, but our management team will gain valuable insight into the skills and resources available within our current employee base," said Tammy Cohen, president and chair of Infomart. "We can identify areas for further training and development, and ensure that the right people are in the right positions to maximize their potential." InfoMart will benefit further with a new initiative, Work Ready Business Champions, geared towards businesses. The program provides four hours of free training to an equal number of employees the companies assesses through Work Ready on a topic of their choice by Chattahoochee Technical College and lunch on the day of training. This free opportunity developed by CobbWorks, Inc. and Chattahoochee Technical College, two stewards of the program in Cobb County, is available to all Cobb County private sector businesses and non-profits that elect to assess any number of their employees. InfoMart's participation in the program places Cobb County one step further in its pursuit as a Certified Work Ready Community. The designation would signify that Cobb County has a talented workforce that business demands and the means to drive economic growth and prosperity.
